This is the Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry. Not tall, not loud, not interested in taking over your yard. But oh, it produces. Ripe fruit nearly year-round in warm climates, in clusters that look like little garnet fireworks. Each one tart, sweet, and wildly satisfying—like finding lost treasure in your own backyard.

Perfect for small gardens. Children will adore it. Birds will covet it. You’ll casually mention it to guests just before handing them a bowl of berries.

It’s not just a plant. It’s a secret that never stops giving.

Care Instructions for Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry (Morus nigra)

The Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry is a compact, fast-growing tree that produces sweet, dark berries over a long season. It’s ideal for small spaces, patios, and containers, and is surprisingly easy to care for.

Light:
Prefers full sun for best fruit production—aim for at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.

Watering:
Water regularly, especially during dry periods. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Once established, the tree becomes more drought-tolerant.

Soil:
Grows well in a variety of soil types, as long as it drains well. Slightly acidic to neutral soil is ideal.

Fertilizer:
Use a balanced fertilizer during the growing season (spring through early fall). Feeding once every 6–8 weeks will support healthy growth and fruiting.

Pruning:
Minimal pruning needed. You can trim to shape or control size, especially if growing in a container. Prune in late winter or early spring.

Cold Tolerance:
Hardy in USDA Zones 5–10. In colder zones, consider growing it in a container and moving it indoors during freezing temperatures.

Fruit Production:
Produces small, sweet black mulberries several times a year in warm climates. Fruit appears on new growth, so regular light pruning can encourage more berries.
